Four Corners Collective

Today, BULL SKIT COMEDY is excited to announce the official formation of a unique collaboration we are calling Four Corners Collective, including representation from Paper Street Theatre Co. in Victoria, B.C., Deep End Theater in Portland, Oregon, The Kinkonauts in Calgary, Alberta, and Bull Skit Comedy in Red Deer, Alberta.

We are not a business partnership or a merger, but we are sister-companies dedicated to making ourselves and each other better. We want to make public and official our deep commitment to one another as friends, companies, and community members. Representative Artistic Directors, Dave Morris, Domeka Parker, Owen Chan, and Jenna Goldade commit to sharing resources such as Codes of Conduct, HR policies, company operating systems, ensemble expectations, training programs and styles, lessons learned, challenges to overcome, and future goals.

We are unique companies with different ideas, goals and styles, but what we have in common is a deep belief that improvisational theatre is an art and craft deserving of inspired, careful, compassionate, and passionate leadership. We aim to hold each other accountable to our own artistic, as well as diversity and equity, goals and promise to support one another in reaching them.

We are excited to share this announcement with you in the hopes that this project will inspire other like-minded people to connect throughout the improv community around the world.

the forum’s studio 54

WOW! The Forum knows how to produce a spectacle and rock a room. Janessa came to our team with the idea for a night paying tribute to one of the hottest clubs “Studio 54.”

Lisa Robinson jumped on board and developed the acting side of things, bringing on Christoff Lundgren, Alumni Christopher Schulz, Matt Dale and Amy Erlandson. This show had everything and then some! In addition to developing a story line with Jesslyn Miller, and Janessa, our team also Stage Managed on the night of the show. We are always in awe at the talent that Red Deer has to offer, and The Forum is one bursting at the seams with amazing performers.

Truly was a pleasure being involved in this show!

lip sync battle

BULL SKIT COMEDY lit up the stage at the Lip Sync Battle in support of the Outreach Centre. We were so excited to finally be available to participate in this event, it was a long time coming.

First of all, it felt great to support our community and help raise funds to improve the lives of those affected by domestic violence, homelessness, and the effects of poverty. The event was a huge success raising $50,000! Our goal was to bring the funny back, we had a huge hiatus due to COVID, so we approached it with our classic BULL SKIT COMEDY lens. Performing Timber as Old Timers, and Maniac in our tight spandex. What won the crowd over was Scott Raabis doing his best Jennifer Beals, and ending with a showstopping water dump!

We had a blast and what everyone brought to the stage was super fun, and we are excited to head back again next year!

miracle at bo’s opening

The Bo’s staff asked us to help make their Opening night a little bit more magical by bringing in the man of the hour Santa Claus to their event. Our team roved as Elves and Santa throughout the evening, entertaining guests as they arrived. And making sure everyone got an Elfie Selfie.

oh deer podcast live show

The guys from Oh Deer came to us, and asked if we would open at their show to work the audience. We loved hitting the stage with them, making each one of them step up and improvise. The audience loved seeing all these guys work the room, and made for a memorable experience.

grindstone comedy festival

We sent four very funny ladies down to perform in the Grindstone Comedy Festival in July. They created a 30 minute sketch show, and brought their own flavor of humor to the stage. This festival was an amazing experience, and one not to miss each year.
