Barbara Jean Askin, a lifetime resident of Red Deer, has taught drama, musical theatre and theatre tech for over 30 years, directed and designed 8 musicals, over 50 One Acts, and over 200 collective creations.
Her most recent directing credit is

Acting credits include Once Upon a Mattress (Lady Larkin) RDC, Jesus Christ Superstar (Mary Magdalene) CAT, The Otherside of the Pole (Pinkie) Theatre Network, Chicago (Roxy Hart) CAT, Dish of Cream RDC Arts Centre, Martin’s Room (Bessie) Take a Risk Theatre, Butterflies are Free (Mrs. Baker) CAT, and Legally Blonde (the Judge) RDC.
Design and set decoration includes The Year of Magical Thinking Ignition Theatre, Fully Committed CAT, remount, Sylvan Lake Theatre Trail, and Stag and Doe CAT.
